[ Viewpoint 1 ] Action films are very popular in China. [ Extension ] The highest-grossing film of all time used to be a Chinese action movie by the name of Wolf Warrior 2. If I remember correctly, it was released in 2017, and it is a sequel to 2015's Wolf Warrior. Moviegoers were captivated by the special effects, exciting plot, and patriotic message. [ Viewpoint 2 ] Foreign films are also very popular among moviegoers in China. [ Extension ] Movies from other countries offer a fresh perspective on concepts and are generally interesting, especially those sci-fi films which are usually in demand in China. [ Viewpoint 1 ] Movie stars deserve the money that they make because acting involves a complex skill set. [ Extension ] Acting is a talent that is often taken for granted. "Bad acting" reminds us of the art of acting so naturally that the audience forgets that they are watching actors act. [ Viewpoint 2 ] Making a film is fraught with difficulties. [ Extension ] Actors are required to be on set for hours and withstand the elements if filming outdoors. They sit in make-up chairs for hours and wear bulky costumes at times. There are also demanding directors and tight deadlines that must be accommodated. Thus, I think professional actors deserve high pay. [ Viewpoint ] An increasing number of people in China prefer to watch films at home rather than in a cinema. [ Extension 1 ] The primary reason behind this shift is comfort. In the comfort of your own home, you do not need to deal with talkative people, late-comers interrupting your focus, or loud munching. At home, you can pause the movie and never have to worry about missing a thing. [ Extension 2 ] Another reason why people prefer homes over cinemas involves snacks and refreshments. The cost of popcorn and soda has become astronomical, whereas at home, they are much more economical.
